Patriotic cakes...17 more cakes to go
a little strange to see a "blue" canada
~~ quite different from the standard red.
Today, April 9, 2008 marks another important day in the history of the Philippines.
Wikipedia describes this as:
"The Bataan Death March (also known as The Death March of Bataan) took place in the Philippines in 1942 and was later accounted as a Japanese war crime. The 60-mile (97 km) march occurred after the three-month Battle of Bataan, part of the Battle of the Philippines (1941–42), during World War II. "
Too bad I could not find a cake in the shape and color of the Philippine flag on the internet. Instead, I found lots of American flag cakes and several others.
Amazing how national colors and sports go together. Flags and sports ~ inseparable. Probably why this cake shape of an Italian flag actually has a soccer ball in the middle.
Besides the topic of cakes now and focusing still on sports, here is an interesting "piece" of artwork depicting the Beijing Olympics:
Ain't that really kewl?
