what's on Craigslist ?......

good day,
i am a usa male, retiring and want to move to ph. i cannot work any longer, and do not have much money. i can live a simple life with a nice lady who is willing to marry me and support me. you can concentrate on your career while i take care of the household for you. you come home and just relax and dinner will be made, the house will be clean, the cloths done, shopping done, and let us relax in the evenings and enjoy each other's company. i am a very nice person and will love you with all my heart and be faithful to only you, and would expect the same from you. i am not a person to be in control and tell you what to do. i would also like to be part of your extended family of sisters, brothers, and mother and father. i do not want to change you at all, i just want a lady who is mature, sincere, nice, loving, and let us love each other with all our hearts. let us begin a new life together and i promise you that you will be very happy with me.

i hope to hear from you. please tell me a little about you, and ask any questions you may want to.

with warmest regards
a husband just for you, sincere and loving

this posting in the m4w section made me smile. I used to be amused by postings made by foreign men looking for a possible girlfriend, wife or just a filipino woman for a long term relationship--especially those who write their postings as if advertising for a "job". For example:

EASY GOING NICE GUY FROM THE US SEEKING SIMPLE, KIND,CATHOLIC LADY FOR MARRIAGE AND CHILDREN MUST BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TO USA PLEASE RESPOND WITH INTERESTS, HOBBIES, PHOTO, AND ANY QUESTIONS YOU HAVE FOR ME.

Most postings even include a closing clause that goes like this:

GOLD DIGGERS NEED NOT APPLY U WILL GET NOTHING FROM ME UNTIL AFTER WE MEET AND I SEE YOUR (sic) A SINCERE PERSON

I don't know how postings like these fare in the responses department-- or if they are even responded to. Personally, I think any woman looking for a possible partner would prefer to respond to a posting that has something more in it than what you would put when accomplishing your curriculum vitae. And what sane woman would respond to a posting that alludes to her being a golddigger?

But maybe they get responses--either from scammers or from men in some African countries posing as Filipino women.

Going back to the first long post by that guy seeking a woman to do the breadwinning while he does the homemaking--geez...Times are changing. Or do you think he is just kidding?
